Peppermint is rich in a naturally occurring plant compound called Menthol. It's responsible for that unmistakeable cooling sensation, but also interacts with smooth muscle throughout the digestive tract. Peppermint Oil has been widely studied for digestive comfort, particularly in relation to feelings of bloating, abdominal discomfort and digestive tension.

Mulberry Leaf has a long history of traditional use. It is earthy, herbaceous and contains a naturally occurring compound called DNJ (1-deoxynojirimycin). 

DNJ interacts with enzymes in the digestive system responsible for breaking carbohydrates down into simple sugars. Research on specific mulberry leaf preparations suggests this may slow carbohydrate digestion and absorption, helping moderate the rise in blood glucose following a carbohydrate-containing meal.

It is one of the reasons Mulberry Leaf & Peppermint work so magically together in this flavour - they work alongside each other to create a chocolate that may be healing and supportive part of the ritual of eating.
